TECHNICAL SUPPORT ENGINEER

Position Summary

The primary role of this position is to provide technical support to the customers on Milwaukee products.
A Technical Support Engineer provides repair of the products in the company service center, and, in addition responsible for providing technical information and troubleshooting on products as requested by customers through phone, e-mail.

Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient, effective technical troubleshooting support on products – repair under and after warranty.
  • Address incoming technical pre-, and post-sales questions from customers and provide prompt, accurate answers.
  • Relay pertinent product information from customers to the company so that the company can continue to improve its products and services.
  • Continuously improve personal proficiencies in “primary support” product area.
  • Utilize active communicating skills to identify and document potential sales opportunities.
  • Document customer feedback.
  • Occasional travel to customer site

Job Requirements

  • Must have at least an Electrical High School Diploma, but Bachelors of Electrical Engineering Degree is preferred.
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: instrumentational knowledge, customer service or field service, experience in installation / design/repair / production of electronic devices.
  • Must be able to effectively assess and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office, graphics, etc.)
  • Willingness to take on and learn new technologies
  • Empathic, tact, and diplomatic approach to customer service.
  • Ability to patiently and efficiently guide customers through technical procedures to resolve product and/or application problems
  • Ability to understand and communicate instrumentation and measurement theory of operation, setup, configuration, calibration and troubleshooting.
  • Aptitude in mechanical and electrical principles
  • Communicate in a convincing way in written and oral English
